DIY Easter Egg Ornament In-Store Event

SPRING EASTER EGG ORNAMENT EVENT

We are thrilled to be able to welcome customers (you, our friends) back into the store for some fun events. We wanted to kick things off with a low key, small gathering to get us back into the swing. We asked our beading specialist Diana to come up with an Easter themed DIY. She wrote this blog post about the event.

Last week we hosted our first (perhaps our first annual?) Spring / Easter DIY event. Eleven brave and creative souls made works of art out of Styrofoam eggs, sequins, beads, pins, stickers and tape.

As with our Christmas Ornament DIY, I provided a kit that included the framework – in this case, a pre-painted, pastel Styrofoam egg – and all the supplies needed to complete two or more ornaments. The kits contained unique combinations of colors, with the option of adding or swapping materials to find just the right blends. This project proved to be a bit more challenging than our winter icicle or candy cane ornaments, because of the limitless options, as well as the amount of area to be covered.

Many thanks to our artists for their patience and adventurous spirits, as we worked our way through new designs, creative challenges, and problem-solving. They were dedicated to their task, heads bent, concentrating, talking, laughing.

And thanks to the wonderful ladies of Johnson Jewelers for hosting, feeding, and keeping the glasses and cups full. I apologize for whatever sequins remained on the floor after clean-up!
